My name is Sam Tassone and my great grand father came from Spadola. He immigrated to Pennsylvania in the early 1900's and is buried in Pottsville. We also have family in Long Island New York and of course many relatives in Toronto Canada. Tassone in Pottsville, PA from Spadola
Good Morning:
I have some information for your one branch of the Tassone family that settled in eastern Pennsylvania in the early 1900's.
Concetta Tassone , (my grandmother) born in Spadola, married Bruno Tucci, also of Spadola, and they emigrated to Pottsville, Pennsylvania (Schuylkill County- approximately 90 miles northwest of Philadelphia) around 1903. Bruno worked in the anthracite mines and died in 1935 of anthrscicosis -black lung. There were four children of this marriage.
My aunt whom we called Aunt Mary who died in the early 1950's of complications of diabetes, Angelo who died in 1945 of black lung, Bruno who died in 1985 of Pancreatitis and Jane Elizabeth (my mother) who died in 1989 of congestive heart failure.

My name is Christine Tassone. My grandfather Vincenzo was born in Simbario (family lore) or Caltansaro in 1872(his naturalization papers) probably mispelled Catanzaro. He came in the late 1890s I think, lived in NY. First on Hester Street, then on Cleveland Street (in 1916) in brooklyn. He is the cousin of Fortunato Tassone born 1884. I believe we are related.

Hello Dominic, My name is Michael Tassone. I look at your web site often and I decided to e-mail you. My great-grandparents came from Catanzaro, Calabria and landed on Ellis Island in 1916. Their names are Luigi Anthony Tassone and Concetta Mary Tassone. Concetta's maiden name was Tassone also. They had 18 children altogether. They moved to Dunbar,PA after they landed in the U.S. and later moved to McKeesport,PA, where they settled. Luigi was born about 1889 and died at the age of 55. Concetta Mary was born in about 1890 and died in 1962. Out of the 18 children born, there are a few still alive. Rocco Anthony(my grandfather),born 1933; Fransisco, born 1928; Sammy, He's in his late 70's; Johnny, in his early 70's; and Evva( 2 v's), she's about 81. My name is Elizabeth Freshour (my married name) my mother was Elizabeth Mangiardi. We lived in a small town called Mineral Point in Wisconsin. My grandfather was Domenico Mangiardi and my grandmother was Maria Concetta Tedeschi both from Brognaturo which is very close to Spadola etc. My aunt Rose is a Bertucci. Mike Tassone was a friend of my grandfathers, he and his brother use to come to Mineral Point to visit my grandfather and the Bertucci families. My grandfather came through Ellis Island in 1909 and was 19 when he came here he was married to my grandmother at that time and she and my uncle Nicola Mangiardi followed in 1919 or 1921. There were several other Tassone members that were in Mineral Point Wisconsin and are buried there. Also Russo. Joe Russo, who would have been about the same age as my grandfather and lived in Mineral Point also and is buried there. I live in Lake Zurich Illinois and have 2 children a daughter that is a sophomore at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, her name is Heather Elizabeth and a son who is a senior in high school this year and his name is Nick (Nicola). Some other added information for you is that my aunt Roses (Bertucci) father was killed and her mother married a Galle and had 12 additional childeren. My aunt Rose had one sister named Mary and a brother named Frank, they are both deceased now and are buried in Mineral Point. My aunt Rose is 92 or 93 now and still alive and well in Mineral Point. Mary and Frank never married or had children. My aunt Rose has two kids, Dominic who is about 58 and lives in Madison Wisconsin and he has two kids Brian (not married) about 26 and Amy (married no kids yet) about 24. And a daughter named Mary who is about 63 living in Rockford Illinois. She has 3 kids - Mike (married with 2 girls ages about 12 and 10) mikes about 40.
